Sunday, April 23, 2006Beat ItEek. I knew this picture would come back to haunt me someday. There goes any possible political career I might have wished for. (Thanks a lot, Mark!) Well, to make up for it, please to enjoy this week's SynCast. We've got all sorts of fun stuff -- from throbbing gabber techno to throbbing non-gabber techno. Special thanks to Audio Atrocities™ for the interstitials. Go See It You really ought to check out Why We Fight, a superb new film about the nature of US military operations overseas. Transcending the single-administration blinders of F911, it centers on Eisenhower's farewell address, where he famously urged us to be aware of the military-industrial complex. Then it explores how well we've heeded the warning. It features interviews with many different folks from many walks of life (including Eisenhower's son; a 20-year military analyst who worked for the Department of Special Plans; and a NYC cop whose son died in 9/11), and really succeeds at dissecting the issue in an appropriately complex way. TimeWaster™ Why not watch the video for Rockit? Because it's hideous and creepy and it'll give you nightmares, that's why! Freaky stuff! Today I'm listening to: Prodigy! |
