Today Diane and I went to the Dane County Humane Society, where we met a very sweet dog named Tito. We liked him so much, we decided to take him home with us. Yay, we have a new dog!

TPCQ: "He robbed the school of music!" "He robbed the school of financial security!" "He robbed the school of Tito!"

Tito is an American Pit Bull Terrier, and he's really sweet. We were a bit nervous about adopting a pit bull, but he's a total goofball and very friendly. Apparently there are lots of myths about pit bull terriers, and so we're learning lots already. The most striking thing about him is his enormous head. My hands can't close around it — it blocks out the sun!

The photo at right is the first shot I took of him. Right after we finished the paperwork for adoption, we went to the Mounds Pet Food Warehouse, to get him some food and stuff. (I accidentally grabbed the Senior Weight Loss variety, so I have to go back there soon.) We wanted to get him some kind of chew toy, so we went down the Toy Aisle. He stopped at a display of orange squeakie dealies, so I offered him one. He took it immediately (he's very gentle when he takes stuff with his mouth) and so we got it. He's way into it.

Also, his head is huge!
